The Cottage is run by local people who give up their free time to preserve the character, history and traditions of the fishing and boat building industries in Buckie and District.

Come along and discover the unique fishing history of this beautiful part of the Moray Firth, in informal surroundings. Chat with our members who will be delighted to answer any questions you may have regarding our extensive collection of photographs. model boats and a large collection of other fishing artifacts. 

Watch a fishing video or listen to one of our taped conversations with individuals connected with the fishing industry. Take a look at a slide show on one of our computers showing fishing vessels, including scuffles,  zulus, drifters and modern fishing boats.

Over the years, we have built up an unrivalled data base of Buckie and Banff registered boats from the latter part of the 19th Century to the present day. This information can be quickly accessed by giving a particular boat's name or number and is supplied free of charge to any interested party.

Normal Opening Hours

The Heritage cottage is reopening to the Public

on Monday, 9th July 2007

Monday to Friday

10.15am - 12.15 pm and 2.00pm - 4.00pm

Saturday

10.15am - 12.15 am

Visits outside these hours and during the close season  can be arranged by contacting a Committee member or by telephoning  the Chairman at 01542 833860, the Treasurer at     01542 835368 or Mr David Wood at 01542 833283.
